- All text in black are to be taken as guidelines. They can be broken if needed, but should be followed as much as possible.
- All text in red are to be taken as rules. They should not be broken under any circumstances.
- As per Limaru rules, this document takes precedence over Section 2 of the Rules and Laws of Limaru when applicable in the region of Emmaru.
Roadways
- Emmaru defines the following roadways: alleyways, pavements, streets, avenues, boulevards and highways.
- An alleyway is any back street that has no front entrances. It should only be accessed by pedestrians and cyclists. No minimum width is defined for alleyways.
- A pavement is a street accessed only by pedestrians and cyclists. All pavements must be at least 3m wide. Sidewalks along motor vehicle-accessible roads are defined as pavements.
- A street is a motor vehicle-accessible road accessible only to slow-moving traffic. Front entrances may line streets without sidewalks. Streets need not follow minimum curve radii guidelines as motor vehicles are required to slow down as needed without prior signage.
- Streets do not need proper road markings, although white lines marking the edges of roads are recommended.
- A water street is a street for watercraft subject to the same rules and regulations as road streets.
- An avenue is a faster road accessible to motor vehicles. Road markings consistent with this document should be present on all avenues, and avenues should follow minimum curve radii guidelines except at junctions (roundabouts, intersections, etc). Front entrances leading to avenues are required to have a pavement OR a space equal to or more than the width of a pavement separating the entrance from the avenue, i.e. a sidewalk, except when the front entrance is accessible by motor vehicles, e.g. a carpark.
- The minimum number of lanes for an avenue is 2, either 1 per direction or 2 in the same direction.
- A water avenue is an avenue for watercraft subject to the same rules and regulations as road avenues.
