Most articles have an "Edit source" button at the top of the page (see Fig. 1). Clicking the button will open the editor.
When the editor is opened, a welcome popup appears, which will ask whether to "Switch to the source editor" or "Start editing" (see Fig. 2). If you are new to editing Wiki pages, you may prefer using the Visual Editor, which is simpler to use compared to the Source Editor. In that case, click the "Start editing" button. For experienced editors, you may prefer using the Source Editor as it gives full access to the contents of an article, including features that are not available in the Visual Editor, such as customising tables. In that case, click the "Switch to the source editor" button.
If you would like to switch between Visual Editing and Source Editing, click the pencil icon at the top right of the editor, and switch accordingly (see Fig. 3).
From here, you can start editing the page! If you are using the Source Editor, we recommend using this guide from Wikipedia which contains the entire reference for Wikitext, the markup language that is also used in the Limaru City Server Wiki.
After you are done with your changes, you can save your changes by clicking the "Save changes..." button on the top-right (for Visual Editor)/bottom (for Source Editor) of the editor (see Fig. 4).
If you are using the Visual Editor, you will be prompted with a popup with the following fields (see Fig. 5). For Source Editing, these fields are at the bottom of the editor where the "Save changes" button is also located:
- Summary - Provide a clear summary that explains what changes you made in 1 or 2 sentences.
- This is a minor edit - A minor edit includes changes such as typo/grammatical corrections, formatting and presentational changes, rearranging of text without modifying content, etc. Check this box if you believe your edit fits this criteria.
- Watch this page - If you would like to be informed about future changes to this page you just edited, check this box and select the duration which you will be notified about changes.
After that, your changes will be saved and the article will be updated!
