The Iciwi card is a rechargeable contactless stored value card used as the payment method for public transportation in Limaru. Cards can be purchased through ticket machines located in train stations throughout Limaru.
History
Uses of the Card
The card is primarily used as a smart card for paying transportation fees in the metro systems and railways across Limaru. As a server-wide smart card system, commuters can travel seamlessly between various metro and rail operators without having to tap in and out when switching to another line operated by a different operator.
The card is also used for paying toll fees on the YJJ City - Mainland Limaru Bridge, with contactless card readers in the toll booth located on the mainland Limaru side, and a temporary card reader installed on the YJJ City side.
The card has not yet been adopted on Limaru's bus networks, which still use command block fare chargers on board all buses.
