The Sun Moon Lake Cable Car is a gondola lift in Sun Moon Lake, YJJ City. It was the first - and currently is - the only cable transportation system in Limaru, and is symbolic of Sun Moon Lake. The cable car was constructed and opened in 2020.
Geology
The cable car runs from the foot of the mountain at Sun Moon Lake to around halfway up the mountain.
Stations
The cable car consists of two stations, which are Sun Moon Lake Station and Mountain Station.
Sun Moon Lake Station
Sun Moon Lake Station is located along the edge of Sun Moon Lake, and is an interchange with the YJJ City Metro's Lake Loop Line and East-West Line.
Mountain Station
Located around halfway up the mountain at Sun Moon Lake, Mountain Station is built on a small flat area of the mountain. It features a glass platform and an exit to a trail where visitors can climb the mountain.
Future Expansion
Officially, there have been no plans to expand the cable car system. However, there have been past discussions about possible expansions to the west of the existing system. One idea proposes that the Mountain Station be converted into an intermediary station, although this proposal is infeasible due to the steep terrain on all 3 sides of the station. Another idea is to scrap Mountain Station and go around the mountain instead, though that idea has not seen much popularity.
