The Tozai Line (東西線, Tōzai-sen) is a rapid transit line in Limaru, operated jointly by Lipan Railways and Emmaru Railways. Its name literally means East-West Line. The line runs between Land's End in Lipan, Limaru and Shinkura in Chiatung, Limaru. On maps, diagrams and signboards, the Tozai Line is shown using the colour "aquamarine" and its stations are given numbers with the prefix "EW".

Route diagram of the Tozai Line.

Overview

The Tozai Line features through services from its western end. Trains run through onto the YJJ City Metro's East-West Line for Sun Moon Lake station at the western (Land's End) end. The line itself also has a looping branch from Legacy Road station to Castle station, which further splits to serve Zaigon station in Central, Limaru. Another branch of this loop extends from Mount Vernon station to Katsuragi station in Enshima, Limaru. Altogether, the Tozai Line features four services.

Services

The Tozai Line is one of the few lines which express services run: some trains skip Municipal District, Highgate, Evertopia, Sakae, Sakauji and Ashfield, and Eastminster stations. It is also one of the two lines to run over the Strait of Limaru, the other being the Central Line.

The four services on the Tozai Line are nicknamed the Mainline Rapid, Mainline Local, Katsuragi, and Zaigon, based on their termini.

Through services to YJJ City run all day on the Mainline Rapid, and during peak hours on the Mainline Local. In the off-peak period, Mainline Local trains are limited to YJJ City only and Mainline Rapid trains make an extra stop at Municipal District station, which is only served by Mainline Local trains during peak hours.

The Katsuragi and Zaigon services have the same service pattern all-day.

Due to the large number of services, the Tozai Line has two eastern termini, Twyford and Epping. The Mainline Rapid and Zaigon services terminate at Twyford while the Mainline Local and Katsuragi services terminate at Epping. Unlike other lines, Tozai Line trains rarely turn around, instead they get despawned at both ends of the line.

Stations

Trains stop at stations marked "●", do not stop at those marked "|", and do not pass through those marked "-". Westbound trains do not stop at stations marked "↓". Some trains stop at stations marked "X".
